ECOSAI Assembly Postponed

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Babayeva/The Fourth Assembly of ECOSAI (Organization for Superior Bodies for Financial Control of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) has been postponed to October 2007, a source in the Chamber of Accounts of the Country said.

The Assembly was expected to be held in Turkey in April 2007. The postponement is linked with the forthcoming jubilee arrangements organized by the Courts of Accounts of Turkey to be held at the end of April or beginning of May 2007. A delegation representing the Chamber of Accounts of the Country is expected to take part in the Assembly as well.

The meetings of the Assembly are held once every three years, where the leadership of the Organization is determined. Mehmet Dammar, the President of Turkey's Courts of Accounts is the head of the Organization.

The superior bodies of financial control of Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan belong to ECOSAI, which was founded in 1994.
