Khalilova / According to the data provided by the National Bank of Azerbaijan, the basic inflation in Azerbaijan in March, 2007 increased by 0.6% as compared to February, 2007 and by 3.2% as compared to the beginning of the year. The figure rose by 9.9% as compared to March, 2006. The calculations were carried out in compliance with the first type of calculation methodology, which takes into account the instability of administratively regulated prices (prices for energy) and the prices of seasonal nature (prices for fruits and vegetables).
According to the calculations carried out in compliance with the second type of calculation methodology, which includes averaged data smoothing, the basic inflation in March comprised 0.5% as compared to February and 3.5% as compared to the beginning of the year. As compared to March, 2006 the inflation accounted for 7.4%. In this type of calculation the National Bank does not take into consideration about 10% of goods and services.
