Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend E.Huseynov / Tagi Ahmadov, the Head of Baku Metro, announced in talks with journalists that informed Trend that two new subway trains each consisting of ten cars will be commissioned by the Baku Metro on 8 November, and an additional five trains will be commissioned in December.
In August 2008, a new subway station will be operating in the 6th micro-district of Baku. In May 2010, another subway station "Azadlyg' will be up and running between the 7th and 8th micro-districts.
Ahmadov noted that the relevant official bodies have approved a proposal to rename Baki Soveti subway station to Icheri Sheher. Discussions over the name of Bakmil subway stations are still underway.
