Second Meeting of Azerbaijani-Poland Inter-Governmental Commission to be Held in Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr I. Khalilova / The second meeting of Azerbaijani-Poland Inter-Governmental Commission on economic co-operation has been scheduled for November 2007, The Poland Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Krzysztof Krajewski, has reported.

The work carried out after the first meeting held in Warsaw on 11-12 September, 2006 will be discussed at the meeting. "We will discuss what has already been done and what is still to be done. Dynamics of economic relationship between the countries is very high. The level of trade is good, but is still not sufficient," the Ambassador said.

As a result of 2006, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Poland made up $70mln ($50mln in 2005).

Energy co-operation may possibly be discussed at the meeting. " Poland is interested in oil supplies from Azerbaijan via the Odessa-Brody route. The export of Azerbaijani gas is not on the agenda as yet," Krajewski noted.

The Co-chairman of the Commission from Azerbaijan is the Economic Development Minister, Heydar Babayev while the Co-chairman of the Commission from Poland is the Economy Minister, Petr Voznyak.
