Azerbaijan Attends Insurance Program "Leadership in Finance Control’ for First Time
Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend / The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry reported that Azerbaijan attended the insurance program of 'Leadership in Insurance Control', held in the International Centre of Toronto, Canada, for the first time. Some 1,300 representatives of the finance sector from 150 organizations and companies took part in the program.
Namik Khallilov, the Chief of the Insurance Control Department at the Finance Ministry, and Zaki Mirzoyev, the advisor of the Department, represented Azerbaijan. The program of 'Leadership' was developed in 1998 to form strong financial systems throughout the world.
The founders of the program are the International Agency on Development of Canada, World Bank, the New York University, and the International Monitory Fund.
Alongside with Azerbaijan, ten other countries attended the program. The crisis in the insurance sector, as well as discussions of issues on introduction of corporative management in insurance companies and a range of other issues were considered.
