Turkish Company Receives Land Lot in Georgia for Construction of Electric Power Station

Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr N. Kirtskhalia / Turkish Georgian Urban Energy company purchased a land lot for construction of a hydroelectric power station on the Paravani Lake in Georgia, Georgia Energy Minister Alexander Khetaguri, said during a briefing after the meeting of the Georgian Government on 3 October.

"This land was sold conditionally as the hydroelectric power station will be constructed," he said.

The Turkish company has already completed the paperwork regarding the agreement with the Georgian Government on construction of the station. Georgia Urban Energy allotted $100mln for construction.

Khetaguri did not reveal the price of the land lot. It will be publicized after Georgian President signs an order on sale of the land. Feasibility study is being currently developed, Khetaguri said.
