The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) exported 925.3 million cubic meters of gas in January-June compared to 550.87 million cubic meters during the same period last year.
SOCAR exported 131.5 million cubic meters of gas in June compared to 41.83 million cubic meters during the same period in 2009.
Today SOCAR exports gas to Georgia and Russia.
SOCAR delivers its gas to Georgia through a pipeline linking the two countries. Roughly 3 billion cubic meters of gas are sent through the pipeline each year.
Azerbaijani gas supplies to Russia began Jan. 1 via the Mozdok-Gazimagomed pipeline. The pipeline has a capacity of 5 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
