Turkmenistan commissions export gas station

Another gas compressor station (GCS) - "Dovletabad-2" with capacity of about 20 billion cubic meters of gas per year has been commissioned in one of the largest Turkmen gas fields in Dovletabad, State Concern "Turkmengaz" said on Saturday.

The facility has been constructed by ENEX Process Engineering LTD (Belgium).

The total cost of the investment project implemented by the State Concern "Turkmengaz" is over 132 million euros.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov in his speech on the occasion of commissioning said that formation of a branch network of gas transport communications is the strategic direction of development of Turkmenistan's energy sector.

The gas compressor station is equipped with modern equipment and is computerized. All processes are controlled remotely and centrally, with the help of electronics and special software. Three compressor units - two working and one reserve have been installed at the station. In addition, the complex includes a number of other technical facilities.

According to the report, an important part of a comprehensive program of the development of domestic energy sector is the modernization of industrial infrastructure of gas fields "Dovletabad-1" and "Dovletabad-2", supplying natural fuel to the interstate gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Central Asia-Center and Turkmen -Iranian pipeline Dovletabad-Sarakhs-Khangiran launched in January 2010.
