International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts an increase in oil production in Azerbaijan in 2012, according to the IMF Middle East and Central Asia Regional Economic Outlook, published on its website on Wednesday.
According to IMF projections, oil production in Azerbaijan in 2011 is forecast at 0.9 million barrels per day, in 2012 - one million barrels per day. In 2010 this figure was one million barrels per day.
Oil exports (excluding refined) in 2011 is forecasted at 0.8 million barrels per day, in 2012 - 0.9 million barrels per day. In 2010, this figure amounted to 0.9 million barrels per day.
Total exports of goods and services from Azerbaijan in 2011 are projected at $35.4 billion, in 2012 - $37.5 billion. In 2010 this figure amounted to $28.5 billion.
Imports of goods to Azerbaijan in 2011 are projected at $16.7 billion, in 2012 - $18 billion. In 2010, this figure amounted to $10.5 billion.
As indicated in the draft concept of socio-economic development of Azerbaijan for 2012 and next three years, in 2012, Azerbaijan will produce 46 million tons of oil.
This year, according to expectations, the country is expected to produce 45.6 million tons as compared to 50.8 million tons in 2010.
