The CNPC-Aktobemunaigas company decreased oil production by 1.3 per cent to 6.2 million tons in 2011, a company spokesperson said today.
"Last year, CNPC-Aktobemunaigas received 6.2 million tons of oil and 3.4 billion cubic metres of gas," the spokesperson said. "This is not the limit. We have large joint projects. The company actively participates in a programme of forced industrial-innovative development and two new projects were introduced in 2011."
In 2010 CNPC-Aktobemunaigas extracted 6.28 million tons of oil. Production of liquefied natural gas amounted to 161,300 tons.
"Our main task is to commission the third gas processing plant, which is important for the whole country. Cheap gas will be delivered to the southern regions of the country via the Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent pipeline. While working out this project we estimate more than 10,000 jobs are to be created and more than $1 billion investment are planned to be obtained."
CNPC-Aktobemunaigas is the largest oil producing company in the Aktobe region. The company has a controlling stake in the Zhanazhol Kenkiyak suprasalt and Kenkiyak subsalt, North Truva fields.
