OPEC oil basket's price stood at $44.68 per barrel on June 1, or $0.47 less than on May 31, the cartel told Trend June 2.
The OPEC Reference Basket (ORB) is made up of the following oil brands: Saharan Blend (Algeria), Girassol (Angola), Oriente (Ecuador), Minas (Indonesia), Iran Heavy (Islamic Republic of Iran), Basra Light (Iraq), Kuwait Export (Kuwait), Es Sider (Libya), Bonny Light (Nigeria), Qatar Marine (Qatar), Arab Light (Saudi Arabia), Murban (UAE) and Merey (Venezuela).
Oil prices vary on the world markets June 2 amid some doubts that the OPEC countries will manage to agree on oil production limitation.
The price for August futures of the North Sea Brent oil mix increased by 0.2 percent - to $49.82 per barrel, while the price of July futures for WTI oil decreased by 0.1 percent - to $48.95 per barrel June 2.
OPEC member-states will gather in Vienna June 2 to discuss the changes and the distribution of production quotas among the OPEC member-states. OPEC's new secretary general will be elected during the meeting.
