A meeting of the Turkmen-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and humanitarian cooperation will be held in Bishkek on August 25, 2016, the Turkmen government said Aug. 23.
According to the message, the two countries are involved in a large project on supplying Central Asian gas to China, primarily from Turkmenistan.
China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has been purchasing gas in the Central Asian region since 2009 after the commissioning of the first two branches (A and B) from Turkmenistan through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The third branch (C) running on the route has been recently commissioned. Currently, the additional fourth branch (D) running on a new route through Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan is being constructed.
