Caspian Pipeline Consortium reveals volume of Kazakh oil shipped from its marine terminal

Out of the 61.08 million tons of oil loaded at the Marine Terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) last year, 54.3 million tons were supplied by Kazakh shippers, Trend reports with reference to the CPC website.

Another 6.8 million tons of oil came from Russian shippers.

İt should be noted that the largest oil volumes came into the CPC pipeline system in 2018 from Kazakhstan’s Tengiz, Karachaganak and Kashagan fields - 28.7 million tons, 10.3 million tons, and 13.2 million tons respectively.

İt is also noteworthy that in 2018, the CPC Marine Terminal’s loading volume was 5.98 million tons up compared to 2017, which is a new annual loading record for the CPC oil port.

In December 2018, loading was at the highest rate: over 5.95 million tons (47.14 million barrels) were loaded into the tanks of oil carrier ships during the month.

CPC pipeline system is one of the major investment projects in energy sector with participation of foreign capital in the CIS. The Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline transports over two thirds of all export crude oil of Kazakhstan.

Major CPC shareholders are Russia (31 percent), Kazakhstan (20.75 percent), Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company (15 percent) and LukArco B. V. (12.5 percent).
