Iran's Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant, located in its Qazvin province, generated over nine billion kilowatt hours of electricity in the first nine months (from March 21 to Dec. 21, 2019) of the current Iranian year, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Energy Ministry.
During the reported period, over 9.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity were transferred to the Iranian grid.
According to the ministry, almost 4.2 billion kilowatt hours of electricity were generated in gas turbines, while slightly over 4.9 billion kilowatt hours of electricity were produced at the steam engines of the plant.
The Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant has 13 operational units. The plant has the capacity to generate 2,042 megawatt electricity and supplies 4 percent of electricity on the Iranian grid.
