Iran's Jam Petrochemical Company reveals funds saved by import substitution

The Iran’s Jam Petrochemical Company in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone of Bushehr Province (southern Iran) has saved to $4.2 million in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020) by producing the necessary spare parts domestically, said Mohammad Javad Shadhani, Head of the Local Production Support Department of Iran's Jam Petrochemical Company, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to Shadkani, at the same time, $5.6 million was prevented from flowing out of Iran for the purchase of these spare parts.

He added that over the past 13 years, the company's local production support department has followed the priority of identification of required spare parts, and the production of these spare parts by creating appropriate facilities.

Jam Petrochemical Company produces 1.32 million tons of ethylene, 306,000 tons of propylene, 115,000 tons of butadiene, 100,000 tons of butente, 300,000 tons of heavy polyethylene (HDPE), 300,000 tons of light polyethylene (LLDPE) per year.
