BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 27

By Klavdiya Romakayeva - Trend:

The share of coal received by budgetary organizations of Uzbekistan in 2020 increased by 18.3 percent compared to the last year, Trend reports referring to Uzbekcoal JSC.

As of October 26, 405,400 tons of solid fuel was provided for the needs of the budgetary sphere. This is the exact volume Uzbekcoal JSC was supposed to deliver by November 1, 2020.

Most of all coal in 2020 was delivered to Andijan and Fergana regions.

The increase in coal supplies is taking place against the backdrop of falling natural gas production.

According to the State Statistics Committee, in the first nine months of the year, gas production decreased by almost 20 percent, from 44.8 billion to 36 billion cubic meters, gas condensate - by 35 percent, from 1.5 million to 1 million tons, coal - by 3 percent, from 2.7 million to 2.6 million tons.

In addition, if Uzbekistan earned more than $2 billion from the export of natural gas over 9M2019, then this year, the volume natural gas export for the same period decreased by 5.5 times, amounting to $366.3 million.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the export of natural gas produced in Uzbekistan to China has decreased several times, and the export of Uzbek natural gas to Russia has completely stopped.
