Oil extraction in Iran to grow - National Iranian Oil Company

The oil extraction in Iran will increase by 280,000 barrels daily with the implementation of contracts in Iran to maintain and increase oil extraction, Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Masoud Karbasian said, Trend reports referring to the NIOC.

He made the remark in the signing ceremony of 8 contracts to maintain and increase oil extraction in Iran.

According to Karbasian, as many as 33 projects were prepared in Iran in 2017 to maintain and increase oil extraction. About 29 of them are onshore and 4 in offshore.

“In general, the contracts have been signed on the implementation of 31 projects, so far. A total of $7.2 billion, including additional costs, will be spent on the implementation of these projects under the contracts,” he added.

The deputy minister noted that Iran has identified 17 companies for oil extraction and exploration, 16 companies for drilling, and 22 companies for the implementation of Iran's oil plans.

The CEO emphasized that the extraordinary extraction was launched in 2018, with the implementation of projects to maintain and increase oil extraction.

Karbasian also said that certain steps have been taken for the domestic production of equipment on the basis of contracts. Thus, a contract was signed for the domestic production of 22 types of drilling rig. Soon, 55 drilling rigs will be produced domestically under these contracts.

Today on January 11, eight contracts were signed in Iran to maintain and increase oil extraction. According to the contracts, $1.21 billion will be spent and oil extraction will increase by 92,600 barrels per day.
