The Iranian government has prepared a plan on the development of the gas fields Kermanshah Province (western Iran), Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said, Trend reports citing the Shana news agency.
He made the remark at a meeting held in Kermanshah Province.
The minister stressed that with the development of the Babagir gas field in Kermanshah Province, it will be possible to extract 6-7 million cubic meters of gas daily.
"In addition, gas extraction from the Bistoon gas field is estimated to be about 1 million cubic meters per day," he added.
Zanganeh noted that at the same time, the gas extracted joint with oil from the Naft Shahr, Sumar, Delavaran and Saman fields will be collected and processed at the gas refinery in the province. Thus, methane gas will be transferred to the country's gas network, and the remaining products will be used as fuel for petrochemical plants.
The minister said that about $2 billion is planned to be invested on the development of gas fields in Iran's Kermanshah Province.
