National Iranian Drilling Company to accelerate work on two fields

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 31

The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) will accelerate drilling work at the Sepehr and Jufair fields in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran), an official of the NIDC Majed Mousavi said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Mousavi stressed that in this regard, the third drilling rig is to be installed in the wells of these fields.

“It is planned to drill 6 wells in these two fields within 24 months. At present, excavations are being carried out with the “Fath 94” drilling rig,” he added.

The official noted that in addition, the "Fath 27" drilling rig has been installed in the mentioned place.

As reported, the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and Pasargad Energy Development Company (PEDC) have signed a contract worth $2.43 million for the development of Iran's Sepehr and Jufair fields in 2018.

According to the contract, oil extraction from these fields will be increased by 110 million barrels daily. A total of 512 million barrels of crude oil will be extracted from these fields during the 20-year contract.
