Iran's Bouali Sina Petrochemical Company launches new desulfurization unit

The desulfurization unit of the Bouali Sina Petrochemical Company in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) was put into operation on June 24, the Executive Director of the company Mohammad Ahmadzadeh said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.

He made the remark in an event dedicated to the supply of gas and the launch of a number of facilities in Iran today.

The director said that the sulfur content in this unit's products will be less than 1PPM. The unit will produce 350,000 tons of raffinate and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) per year.

Ahmadzadeh added that about 7 trillion rials (about $167 million) has been spent on the unit, and a total of 40 people have been employed.

“According to forecasts, the company's revenue will increase by 4-5 trillion rials (about $95.2-$119 million) a year with the operation of this unit,” he noted.

The director stressed that about 25-30 percent of Bouali Sina Petrochemical Company's products are acidic and sulfuric.

As reported, Iran's Bouali Sina Petrochemical Company can produce annually 180,000 tons of benzene, 40,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), 350,000 tons of light naphtha, 499,000 tons of heavy naphtha, 700,000 tons of white oil, various solvents, reformate and other products.

In general, 21 cities, 2,800 villages and 4,660 industrial enterprises in Iran were supplied with gas and a number of oil-gas facilities have been put into operation today on June 24. A total of 137 trillion rials (about $3.26 billion) was spent in this regard.
