Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline has to date transported over 438 million tons of oil to Turkey and other world markets from Azerbaijan alone, Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan’s energy ministry.
Over the last three years, BTC supplies roughly 20.7 million tons of crude oil and oil products from Turkmenistan, while last year, the pipeline transported 106,000 tons of oil from Kazakhstan.
The 1,768 km BTC pipeline became operational in June 2006.
The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly ACG crude oil and Shah Deniz condensate from Azerbaijan. In addition, other volumes of crude oil and condensate continue to be transported via BTC, including volumes from Turkmenistan, Russia and Kazakhstan.
The BTC Co. shareholders are: BP (30.1 percent); AzBTC (25 percent); MOL (replaced Chevron as of 16 April 2020 (8.9 percent); Equinor (8.71 percent); TPAO (6.53 percent).
