Baku refinery increases oil output

Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev has refined 6.7 million tons of oil in 2021, a 13.3 percent increase year-on-year, Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR.

The company’s Gas Processing Plant has processed 3.8 billion cubic meters of gas in 2021, a slight decrease as compared to 2020.

Exports of petrochemical and oil products (including polymer) exceeded 3 million tons as of 2021, a 25.5 percent increase as compared to 2020.

Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery, located on the Absheron Peninsula, is one of the largest oil refineries in the South Caucasus. The refinery is expected to start producing Euro-5 gasoline from the second quarter of 2023.
