BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. The International Energy Agency (IEA) and the European Commission have offered more ways to overcome the European energy crisis, Trend reports with reference to the IEA.

The new analysis also identifies actions that companies and national and local governments can take to support consumer action and unlock even more energy savings.

IEA and the European Commission believe that by following the recommendations below, a typical household in the European Union could reduce, on average, its energy bill by more than EUR 450 a year:

- Turning down the thermostat at home by just 1 °C would save around 7 percent of the energy used for heating. Every degree lowered could cut more than EUR 70 from the annual energy bill;

- Setting up your boiler properly could save around EUR 100 each year;

- Working at home three days a week could reduce household fuel bill by around EUR 35 a month;

- Pooling car journeys, setting car’s air conditioning 3 °C warmer could save household around EUR 100 per year;

- Reducing average cruising speed on motorways by 10 kilometres an hour, could allow to cut household fuel bill by around EUR 60 a year;

- Leaving car at home on Sunday in large cities could save household EUR 100 a year;

- Walking or biking short journeys instead of driving can save over EUR 55 per household every year;
Using public transport;

- Using train instead of plane.
