BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. Marginal tariffs for the production of electricity in Kazakhstan have been revised, Vice Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Zhandos Nurmaganbetov said this during a briefing in the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

The average increase in marginal tariffs of energy-producing organizations in Kazakhstan is forecasted at the level of 10-12 percent (9.9 percent).

The existing level of marginal tariffs of energy-producing organizations (hereinafter referred to as EPO) does not fully cover the costs of EPO.

"The project for marginal tariff also takes into account bringing the salary levels of the station staff to the average for the relevant regions as part of the execution of the President's instructions," Nurmaganbetov stressed.

The applications of adjustment of marginal tariffs by groups were submitted in April from 26 of 47 EPOs. When considering them, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy applied an individual approach to each case. Applications requiring a timely decision were taken into account.

The tariff adjustment was made on June 30 of this year by order of the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan On amendments to the Order of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 14, 2018 No. 514 on approval of marginal tariffs for electric energy, which entered into force on July 1, 2022.

At the same time, the marginal tariff of Ekibastuz GRES-1 coal-fired thermal power station, which sells electric energy in almost all regions of Kazakhstan except the western zone of Kazakhstan's unified electric power system, remained unchanged. For 21 out of 47 energy-producing organizations, the tariff has been maintained at the same level.

In addition, revising the marginal tariffs for electric energy will save about 30,000 jobs of production personnel of 47 energy-producing organizations.
