BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 25. The volume of gas supplied into the Shourijeh D underground gas storage facility in Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province in the north-east of the country, increased by 10 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Managing Director of Iran's Shahid Hasheminejad Gas Refining Company Yahya Feyzi said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.

The director noted that overall, about 1.83 billion cubic meters of gas were supplied into Shourijeh D underground gas storage facility.

Feyzi added that as of December 31, 2022, the taking of gas from the mentioned gas storage facility will begin, and 15 million cubic meters of gas will be received daily and delivered to Iran's gas transportation network.

On March 31, 2022, Iran has launched operations on the second phase of the Shourijeh D underground gas storage facility in the Razavi Khorasan Province (north-eastern Iran).

These operations are carried out on the basis of the contract signed between Iran Gas Engineering and Development Company and MAPNA Group on December 22, 2021.

According to the contract, the operations will be completed in three years and the second phase will be used for 20 years. The contract is worth $2.2 billion.

As part of the contract, 28 wells will be drilled, a gas collection center will be built, compressors and other necessary equipment will be installed.
