ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 27. Azerbaijan purchased 28,939 tons of aviation fuel from Turkmenistan from January through October this year, Trend reports.
The State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan reports that the cost of this imported fuel from Turkmenistan has exceeded $14.4 million.
Azerbaijan imported more than 36,300 tons of fuel for jet engines from Turkmenistan last year worth over $39.2 million, which is 4.2 times more than in the same period of 2021.
Simultaneously, Azerbaijan brought in 24,096 tons of gasoil from Turkmenistan, amounting to over $13.13 million in the initial ten months of the current year.
Meanwhile, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan increased by 1.8 times from January through October 2023, reaching $710.37 million, a remarkable increase from $377.23 million in the same period the previous year.
