BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 22. Iran's Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company (AOGPC) has resumed production from well No. 21 in the Ramshir oil field after replacing its pipes and devices, saving 420 billion rials (about $10 million) in the process, said Heydar Eliasiniyeh, the technical affairs chief of the company, Trend reports.
Eliasiniyeh said that the replacement operation was done without a drilling rig, and involved specialists from both AOGPC and the National Iranian South Company (NISOC).
The official also mentioned that the operation avoided a four-month halt in production from the well, and enabled the extraction of 360,000 barrels of crude oil in that period.
Iran’s Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company (AOGPC) is a subsidiary of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC).
The AOGPC has eight oil fields: Aghajari, Karanj, Paranj, Parsi, Ramshir, Rag Sefid, Pazanan and Marun. The company extracts about 615,000 barrels of light and heavy crude oil daily from these fields and produces more than 27.8 million cubic meters of gas per day.
Iran's Ramshir oil field is located 145 km south-east of Ahvaz city in Khuzestan Province. About 40,000 barrels of crude oil are reportedly produced daily from this field. The development of Ramshir oil field has been entrusted to the Oil Industry Construction and Engineering Company (OIEC). If the field is fully developed, 55,000 barrels of crude oil and 70 million cubic feet (about 2 million cubic meters) of gas could be produced daily.
