BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 20. SOCAR Methanol LLC of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan produced 157,000 tons of methanol from January through April 2024, which is 28.6 percent more than the indicator for the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
Based on the data of the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, 10,300 tons of methanol were kept in SOCAR Methanol's warehouses as of May 1.
Since 2014, the enterprise has been under SOCAR's ownership and remains the sole methanol producer in the South Caucasus, with a peak capacity of about 720,000 tons per year.
