ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 24. Azerbaijan bought over 6,400 tons of kerosene from Turkmenistan from January through April this year, Trend reports.
Based on the data from the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan, the price tag for importing Turkmen kerosene during that time period went through the roof, surpassing a whopping $4 million.
During the specified period, Turkmenistan accounted for 80 percent of the total volume of kerosene purchases by Azerbaijan from foreign countries in tonnage, and 60 percent in monetary terms.
At the same time, Azerbaijan has also purchased over 6,600 tons of jet fuel from Turkmenistan in the amount of $1.6 million.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in the first four months of 2024 amounted to $150.6 million, which is almost half the trade turnover between the two countries in the same period last year, amounting to more than $296.5 million.
