In the 2006 budget SOFAR still plans to indicate expenditures for the BTC pipeline. The funds will be specified for payment of any contingencies, the SOFAR executive director Samir Sharifov told Trend. "We will plan some 200 billions for these purposes, as in case we fail to pay off our commitments we are subject to penalties and the country’s share may reduce.
Funding this project is a budgetary process with us and we will not be able to change the budget in case of any reasons arise. Therefore, it is expedient to take into account these funds in advance”, Sharifov noted.
According to him, for the next year SOFAR plans its revenues in the amount of $900 million - $1 billion.
