In mid-December SOCAR intends to announce tenders on sale of 380,000 tons light oil products with shipment in 2006. The Company plans to announce a tender on sale of 180,000 tons petrol and 200,000 tons diesel fuel, Trend reports. The deadline of the tenders is late
December.
Georgian purchasers are supposed to show considerable interest to the tender, as the country is the main consumer of the Azerbaijani petrol.
In 2004 SOCAR exported L-62 diesel fuel, produced by Heydar Alliyev Oil Refinery Plant of Р'Р Oil. The fuel was transported via railway to the Georigian Black Sea ports Poti and Batumi.
SOCAR noted that the Company desisted from export of jet kerosene in 2006 due to increasing demand in the local market. The main consumer of jet kerosene in the internal market is AZAL State Air Lines Company.
