On the eve of the official opening ceremony of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline (BTC) in Adana (Turkey), large-scale work is carried out the reconstruction of 22-km road. The repair work has been started on the highway of Ceyhan-Yumurtalig through which the delegation will go to Ceyhan port, Trend reports with reference to Turkish TV channel Kanal-7. Constructed in 2005, the 6-km part of the road up to the marine terminal of Ceyhan are cleaned from weeds, and the tables and signs are changed.
According to representatives of the Turkish Transport Ministry, the road of Ceyhan-Yumurtalig doesnt correspond with international standards due to lack of budget. The head of the administration of Yumurtalig avenue Hasan Hyurklu stressed that despite repeat appeals to the government instances, the quality of the road is low.
The opening ceremony of BTC will be held on July 13, 2006.
