A mission of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is expected to start its visit to Baku on December 4. The main aim of the visit is to appraise a project on the reconstruction of the Mingachavir Hydroelectric Power Station (HEPS), a source in the cabinet of Ministers of the Country told Trend.
According to the preliminary data, the total value of the project is estimated at $95 mln, $80 mln. out of them are expected to be granted by IDB. The rest might be financed by Azerenerji JSC.
The first and the third hydro unit are going to be replaced. The projected capacity of each unit is 60 MWatt. Transformers, substations are expected to be replaced, and the station management will be modernized.
Some work at the Mingachavir HEPS was implemented at the expense of IDB and EBRD in 1998-1999. IDB granted $12,5 mln., and about $21 were given by EBRD.
