BP Azerbaijan has put into operation the second pre-drilling well in the gas-condensate field Shah Deniz, Trend reports with reference to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). At present the gas from this field has entered into the system of Azerigaz JSC.
Once this has been completed, the third and fourth fields will be put into exploitation. When all three wells have been exploited, BP Azerbaijan will return to the work in the first well. At present BP Azerbaijan resolves the problems in the first pre-drilling well. The first pre-drilling well had been terminated due to the gas leakage. 8.6 bln cu.m of gas will be produced annually within the Phase 1 of the development project of Shah Deniz. 2.8 bln cu.m of gas will be produced from Shah Deniz in 2007.
