Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend N. Kirzkhalia / Vano Chkhartishvili, a Georgian MP, head of "Independent Majorities" fraction and former banker, is to be a shareholder for the import of Azerbaijani petroleum, which comprises 45% at the Georgian market.
Chkhartishvili possesses a 24.6% share of the branch of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) in Georgia, SOCAR Georgia Petroleum. SOCAR Georgia Petroleum supplies petroleum from Azerbaijan to Georgia. "I am not engaged in the management of the company," he said.
Motor petrol is produced at Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery Plant in Baku, which is the property of SOCAR.
