Kazakhs sent over $310M to foreign countries since January 2019

In 1Q2019, the volume of international money transfers from Kazakhstan amounted to 120.7 billion tenge ($318.1 million), which is 6.4 percent more than in the same period of last year, Trend reports referring to Finprom.

In contrast, the number of transfers has decreased by 3.2 percent and amounts to 540,600, with the increase of average sum of transfer by 10 percent (223,200 tenge).

In this period, the largest volume of transfers was sent to Russia (46.4 million tenge), but the volume is 7.3 percent less than in the same period of last year. The average sum of transfer to Russia amounted to 204,300 tenge (188,400 tenge in 1Q2018).

The Russia is followed by Turkey (18.3 billion tenge, annual +42.1 percent) and Uzbekistan (16.6 billion tenge, annual +34.1 percent). Over half of the transfers accounts for other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (52.4 percent, 63.2 billion tenge).

The largest average sum of transfer accounts for China (966,200 tenge), Turkey (445,200 tenge) and Georgia (275,000 tenge).

The post popular transfer currencies are US dollar (64.3 percent), rubles (28.8 percent) and euro (1.5 percent). Only 5.5 percent of transfers were done in tenge.

The largest volume of transfer (86 billion tenge) was performed by KoronaPay (71,3 percent of the volume, annual +31.7 percent).

It is followed by Western Union (16.7 billion tenge, annual -9.3 percent) and Unistream (six billion tenge, annual -43.9)
