In May 2019, the total value of deposits in Azerbaijan amounted to 21.98 billion manats, which is 9.2 percent more than in the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
At the same time, the value of deposits compared to April this year decreased by almost 150 million manats.
In particular, the value of deposits of non-financial organizations increased by 11.5 percent compared to May 2018 (10.532 billion manats), reaching 11.74 billion manats. The total value of deposits of legal entities in May 2019 reached 13.36 billion manats.
Meanwhile, the value of deposits of individuals rose by 9.6 percent, reaching 8.622 billion manats.
As of May 2019, deposits in foreign currency amounted to 13.905 billion manats (63.3 percent of total deposits), which is 1.45 percent less than in the same period last year.
A significant increase is also observed in the deposits in national currency. Their value increased by 34.1 percent compared to May last year, reaching 8.77 billion manats.
