Turkmenistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) intend to intensify cooperation in a number of areas, including projects in the field of energy, transport, development of small and medium-sized businesses and others, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan told Trend.
This was stated during a meeting between representatives of Turkmenistan and the EBRD delegation led by the head of the local representative office of the EBRD Fatih Turkmenoglu.
During the meeting, the parties noted the need to adapt joint activities to the current situation, including the global pandemic.
It was confirmed that the EBRD is ready to continue providing assistance to the Turkmen side in accordance with the EBRD’s Turkmenistan Country Strategy 2019-2024.
As earlier the representative of EBRD Anton Usov told Trend, up to 5 new deals may be signed between EBRD and Turkmenistan before the end of 2020.
Since the beginning of 2020, EBRD has signed 3 projects with Turkmenistan, in particular, with Turkmenistan’s Datly Sherbet, Ak Hunji, Safa companies.
All these 3 projects were worth $19.3 million.
