Around 91,070 bank accounts were recorded in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic as of early November 2020, which is 8.6 percent or 7,100 accounts more compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the report of Nakhchivan’s State Statistical Committee.
According to the report, 79,500 or 87.2 percent of the accounts are active.
"From January through October 2020 alone, 31,460 bank accounts were opened in the autonomous republic, which is 7,300 units or 30.2 percent more compared to a year earlier. Almost all new accounts are active," the committee said.
As of early November 2020, the number of POS terminals installed in Nakhchivan amounted to 1,400 units, which is 9.3 percent more than last year.
From January through October 2020, the total gross domestic product (GDP) in Nakhchivan grew by 0.9 percent compared to the same period of 2019 and reached 2.29 billion manat ($1.34 billion).
