Azerbaijan's volume of deposits in national currency edges up

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec.1

The total volume of deposits in Azerbaijan as of late October 2020 amounted to 22.4 billion manat (nearly $13.2 billion), which is 4.1 percent less than the same indicator of last year, Trend reports citing a report from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The volume of deposits of non-financial organizations decreased by 2.2 percent compared to late October 2019, amounting to 12.61 billion manat ($7.42 billion).

As for the volume of deposits of individuals, it showed a decrease of 10.7 percent, amounting to 7.87 billion manat ($4.63 billion).

In the past 10 months of 2020, total deposits in foreign currency amounted to 12.87 billion manat ($7.57 billion), which is 13.2 percent less than in the same period of last year.

At the same time, the volume of deposits in national currency grew by 11.6 percent compared to 10M2019, reaching 9.57 billion manat ($5.63 million).
