The merging of several banks in Iran belonging to the Iranian Armed Forces ended today on December 20, Director General of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Abdolnasser Hemmati wrote on his Instagram page, Trend reports.
According to Hemmati, these banks are Ansar, Mehr Eqtesad Bank, Hekmat Iranian Bank, Ghavamin Bank s and Kosar financial institutions and were merged to Bank Sepah.
The director added that the merging of 6 banks was a very complicated and great step.
“The officials of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, the Iranian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, and others have been working on the process for the past two and a half years,” he said.
All the branches of these banks are under the control of Iran's Bank Sepah. In addition, 285 companies are belonging to the banks of the Iranian Armed Forces. Iran's Bank Sepah will decide on the operation, liquidation, or merger of these companies.
