December 2020 revenues in Azerbaijani state budget via customs duties revealed

The inflow of customs duties to the state budget of Azerbaijan in December 2020 decreased by 6.3 percent compared to November 2019 and amounted to 103.6 million manat ($60.9 million), Trend reports on Jan.11 citing the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

According to the committee, the number of revenues to the state budget of Azerbaijan through the State Customs Service amounted to 352.7 million manat ($207.47 million), decreasing by 12.3 percent compared to the same period last year.

In the reporting month, the revenues from VAT fell by 14.3 percent year on year to 230.4 million manat ($135.5 million), said the report.

As reported, the volume of revenues from excise taxes dropped by 18 percent to 15.3 million manat ($9 million), and from road tax - by 13 percent to 3.3 million manat ($1.9 million).

The duties of the Azerbaijan Customs Service include protecting the sovereignty, economic and national security of Azerbaijan, as well as improving the social welfare of the people, promoting international trade, ensuring the collection of customs payments and transferring them to the state budget, as well as preventing fraud in the customs sphere and combating international terrorism.
