Azerbaijan sees reduction in lending to public organizations

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 20

The volume of loans issued to the public organizations as of early July 2021 in Azerbaijan lowered, Trend reports with reference to the statistics of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, this showing amounted to 19.9 million manat ($11.7 million), down by 2.1 million manat ($1.2 million) or 9.5 percent on annual basis.

The share of the public organizations in lending to the real sector as of early July this year amounted to 0.1 percent, which is 0.1 percent below the share’s early July 2020 level.

In general, lending to the real sector of the Azerbaijani economy during the first half of 2021 amounted to over 15.2 billion manat ($8.9 billion), up 707.4 million manat ($416.1 million) or 4.9 percent compared to the same period of last year.

Meanwhile, the biggest share of loans in Azerbaijan accounted for households, amounting to 7.3 billion manat ($4.3 billion) or 48 percent of the total volume of lending to the real sector.
