BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Iranian banks issued loans worth 1.99 quadrillion rials (about $47.4 billion) in the agricultural sector of the country, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, about 383 trillion rials (about $9.12 billion) worth of loans were issued for the establishment of enterprises and the planting of gardens, and arable lands in the agricultural sector.

In addition, 1.38 quadrillion rials (about $32.8 billion) worth of loans were issued as working capital in the agricultural sector.

"The loans worth 6.87 trillion rials (about $163 million) were issued for repair work in the agricultural sector of Iran within last Iranian year," the statistics said.

According to the statistics, at the same time, 133 trillion rials (about $3.17 billion) worth of loans were issued for the development of Iran's agricultural sector.

Moreover, 23.9 trillion rials (about $570 million) worth of loans were issued for the purchase of personal assets in the agricultural sector, 2.74 trillion rials (about 65 million) for the purchase of housing, and 58.6 trillion rials (about $1.39 billion) for other purposes.

In total, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 29.7 quadrillion rials (about $707 billion) in various economic sectors over the last Iranian year.

The figure stood at 10.4 quadrillion rials (about $248 billion) in the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).
