BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 26. In total, 7 million bank checks worth 3.68 quadrillion rials (about $87.6 billion) were exchanged in Iran for the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2022), Trend reports via the report of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, this is an increase of 15.5 percent in value and 9.2 percent in number compared to the 7th month of (September 23 through October 22, 2022).

In overall, 6.5 million checks worth 3.34 quadrillion rials (about $79.4 billion) were received in Iran in the 8th month. This is an increase of 17.8 percent in value and 9.8 percent in number compared to the 7th month.

At the same time, over 496,000 checks worth about 343 trillion rials (about $8.17 billion) bounced in the 8th month, which is a decrease of 2.8 percent in value and 2.4 percent in number compared to the 7th month.

The reason for the bounce of checks was the lack of available funds.
