BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. Iranian banks issued loans worth 37.6 quadrillion rials (about $896 billion) in various economic sectors in the country, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Trend reports via the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

"Last year, the country’s banks issued loans worth approximately 2.8 quadrillion rials (about $66.6 billion) in the agricultural sector," the statistics said.

Moreover, the banks provided loans worth 13.9 quadrillion rials (about $332 billion) in Iran's industrial and mining sectors within the mentioned period.

According to the statistics, the Iranian banks also provided loans worth about 2.56 quadrillion rials (about $60.9 billion) in housing and construction sector during the last year.

At the same time, the loans worth 3.31 quadrillion rials (about $78.9 billion) were issued in the trade sector.

Meanwhile, 15 quadrillion rials (about $358 billion) worth of loans were issued in the services sector, and 10.6 trillion rials (about $255 million) in other unmentioned areas for the last Iranian year.

The loans are provided for the establishment of enterprises and facilities, such as working capital, repair work, development, purchase of personal assets, purchase of apartments, and so on.
