Iranian banks support country's economy with over $100B in loans

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. The Iranian banks issued loans worth approximately 4.49 quadrillion rials (about $107 billion) in various economic sectors in the country, during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through May 21, 2023), Trend reports.

So, the banks issued approximately 150 trillion rials (about $3.57 billion) worth of loans in the agricultural sector within the mentioned period.

Also, the banks provided loans worth 1.82 quadrillion rials (about $43.4 billion) in Iran's industrial and mining sectors for 2 months.

During 2 months, the banks lent 199 trillion rials (about $4.74 billion) in Iran's housing and construction sector.

Furthermore, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 512 trillion rials (about $12.2 billion) in the trade sector over the reporting period.

At the same time, about 1.8 quadrillion rials (about $42.8 billion) worth of loans were issued in the services sector, and 831 billion rials (about $19.7 million) in other unmentioned areas for 2 months.

As reported, the loans are provided for the establishment of enterprises and facilities, such as working capital, repair work, development, purchase of personal assets, purchase of apartments, and so on.
