BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 27. Joint struggle against global climate change stands essential, Secretary General of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) Roel Dona said during a scientific-practical conference held in Sheki on August 27, Trend reports.
He stressed that the experience of the Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan in combating environmental offenses is valued by international and regional organizations, as well as prosecutorial structures of other countries.
Then, referring to the preparations for the 29th annual conference and general meeting of IAP to be held in Azerbaijan in September 2024, as well as several organizational issues, Roel Dona pointed out that more than 400 foreign guests will visit Azerbaijan to participate in the international event.
To note, a scientific-practical conference on “Formation of academic and scientific bases for protection of green spaces from climate change” is being held in Sheki city within the framework of the ECOLEAD project “Strengthening the environment: the role of educational and law enforcement measures”.
Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev, Secretary General of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) Roel Dona, head of the Sheki district executive authority Elkhan Usubov, high-ranking officials of various state structures are taking part in the conference.
