Azerbaijan’s Internet Providers Likely to Cut Tariffs
Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Babayeva / Azerbaijan's internet providers will discuss reducing the tariffs for their services, the head of Azerbaijan's Internet Association, the Director General of Azerin internet-provider, Galib Gurbanov, said on 12 September.
According to him, the issue will be considered at the meeting of the Association scheduled for mid-September.
A reduction in prices for the internet may be possible owing to the increase of the transmission speed of the international internet channel provided by Delta Telecom company. Therefore, the providers will receive more high-speed internet at the same price.
Gurbanov believes the reduction in prices will be followed by the extension of the broadband internet (ADSL) services in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan's Internet Association includes 46 natural persons and juridical entities. According to Azerbaijan Communication and IT Ministry, the number of internet users in Azerbaijan makes up 900,000.
