Program for Caspian Telecoms 2008 Conference Announced

Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 April / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / The preliminary program of the regional conference and exhibition - presentation on telecommunications and IT technologies for Turkey, Caspian and Black Seas region, Central Asia and Russia -Caspian Telecoms 2008, was announced. According to the organizer -British company ITE Group PLC, the conference-exhibition will be held in Istanbul on 17 and 18 April.

The regional electric communication market and supervision of Turkey's role in the region from the point of view to join the European Union will be discussed in the meeting. The agenda will also include international and regional prospects of liberalization and privatization of electric communication and information technologies in the Caspian region, as well as privatization of telecommunications in the Central Asia countries to attract long term investments to the telecommunication nets in the region, possibilities of growth in the markets, liberalization of telecommunication markets in Central Asia, IP- telephony in the Caspian region, potential prospects, supervision of future development of telecommunications and technologies, and potential for Caspian coast regions and Central Asia.

During the second day of the conference, the participants will discuss supervision of possibilities for further investments in the telecommunications in Turkey, Caspian region, Black Sea regions and Balkan states, as well as further development of electric communication and IT in Central Asia, supervision of tendencies, demand and broadband services in Turkey and Central Asia.

The rapporteurs of the conference are state officials from Turkey, Russia, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belorussia and such companies like TeliaSonera, Tostelecom, Kazakhtelecom, Fintur Holdings B.V., Alcatel - Lucent, Azercell, Iskratel, Aztelekom and others.

According to the information by Azerbaijani Communication and IT Ministry, Ilham Mardanov, deputy head of Communication Ministry administration, Mahammad Mammadov, director general of Aztelecom, and Jalil Jafarov, director of International Relations and Accounts Centre, will participate in the conference.
